About Municipality of Val-Rita-Harty
The municipality of Val Rita-Harty is a township located in Cochrane District in Northeastern Ontario. It is composed of two main communities, Val Rita and Harty, both situated along Highway 11 between Opasatika and Kapuskasing. It was incorporated in 1973, spans about 380 km², and has a small population with very low population density. The township provides municipal services like day-to-day operations, infrastructure maintenance, issuing permits, promoting local tourism, and is governed by an elected municipal council led by a mayor (Johanne Baril).
