About Hearst Forest Management
Hearst Forest Management Inc. (HFMI) is the organization responsible for sustainable management of the Hearst Forest, a forest management unit covering over 1.2 million hectares in Northeastern Ontario. HFMI carries out long-term planning for harvesting, forest renewal, conservation of ecologically sensitive areas, monitoring and ensuring compliance with environmental standards, while engaging local communities and Indigenous peoples.
